I am thrilled to share that I recently co-presented a paper with Zewei Li titled “Embracing Indigenous Wisdom for Adaptive, Inclusive, and Sustainable Fashion Design: A Case Study Approach” at the 2nd International Academic Conference hosted by Yoobee College of Creative Innovation. This experience was both enlightening and inspiring, aligning perfectly with the conference’s theme, “Retro-futuristic Visions: Look Back to Look Forward.”

Highlighting Indigenous Cultures and Fashion Innovations

Our presentation delved into the rich tapestry of indigenous cultures and their profound influence on modern fashion innovations. By embracing indigenous wisdom, we explored how adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable design principles can be integrated into contemporary fashion. This approach not only honors traditional knowledge but also paves the way for innovative and responsible design practices.

Gratitude and Acknowledgements

I am incredibly grateful to Natascha Diaz Cardona for chairing our panel and to Dr. Kathryn A. Hardy Bernal, Ph.D., for organizing this conference event.
